Silver Sands Café
Silver Sands Café has been serving up some of the best soul food in Nashville for well over 50 years. However this past spring, the beloved eatery has fallen on some hard times.
Owner Sophia Vaughn is turning to the local community for help after her restaurant not only suffered severe tornado damage but a contractor also fumbled repairs and she is now feeling the devastating effects of the hospitality crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
City House and The Lee Initiative are leading the charge to help raise funds for Vaughn so the restaurant can once again nourish the local community.
The Lee Initiative is now accepting donations to help Sophia get back to her stove and will match funds up to $10,000. If you live in Nashville, you can also support Silver Sands by purchasing a Memorial Day Picnic Basket which will be available for pickup at City House on Saturday, May 23.
For $101, the basket features a variety of Silver Sands' signature dishes including Fried Chicken Silver Sands Style and Cornlight Muffins. Wine or beer pairings can also be added to the basket for an additional charge.
