The team at Chef's Market has noticed an uptick in the number of Thanksgiving orders for one this year as many cancel their traditional large family gatherings in order to keep older relatives safe.
In response, the Nashville-based caterer will be giving away up to 40 free Thanksgiving meals (with free delivery to Nashville, Goodlettsville, Madison, Hendersonville, and Greenbrier areas) for anyone over the age of 70 who will be spending the holiday alone this year.
“We are thankful for the support our community has shown us through this difficult time," says Chef's Market owner Jim Hagy. "This is our way of expressing our gratitude.”
Each meal, which can be scheduled for contact-free delivery on either Tuesday Nov. 24 or Wednesday, Nov. 25, will be packaged cold in a microwave-safe container with simple heating instructions. Each package will contain a full Thanksgiving feast with all the trimmings: Herb-Crusted Turkey, Cornbread Dressing, Riesling Turkey Gravy, Southern Green Beans, Cranberry Relish, and a slice of Pumpkin Pie.
To arrange a delivery for yourself or a loved one, email Jim Hagy at jim@chefsmarket.com or call 615-851-2433, ext. 304. The cut off for order requests is Sunday, Nov. 22, or until they've received 40 orders.
