Jazzmania, the Nashville Jazz Workshop's annual jazz party and fundraiser, took place Saturday, October 20 in Liberty Hall in the Factory at Franklin.
The festive affair is in its 18th year, and raises money to support the Workshop's jazz classes, performances, and community programs. Party-goers enjoyed delicious food from Sargent's Fine Catering, wine, beer, and spirits from Lipman Brothers and Cathead Vodka, and music from the Jeff Hamilton Trio, the Dara Tucker Band, and a student group of high school age jazz musicians from the Workshop's Young Artist Program.
A special fundraising appeal took place during the evening to support the Young Artist Program, which now includes a Summer Jazz Camp, Scholarship Lessons, and a Precollege Program. The evening's program also included the annual Jazz Heritage Award, presented this year to saxophonist Jeff Coffin, and a special Visionary Award presented to longtime Board member and jazz advocate Elyse Adler.
