On Saturday, April 27, guests gathered at the Frist Art Museum for the Frist Gala, an annual black-tie affair.
As the museum's largest fundraiser, the Frist Gala raises a million dollars each year to benefit the museum's general operating fund and support its work of bringing the art of the world to Middle Tennessee. This year's co-chairs were Lake Eakin and Christine Weller.
Led by the creative talents of The Social Office, the 2024 Frist Gala drew inspiration from the landscapes featured throughout Southern/Modern. The museum's historic Grand Lobby was adorned in green linens and boxwood topiaries, transforming the space into a springtime garden party. As guests entered the dinner tent, they were greeted by glossy, green garden benches, stone animal statues, and southern inspired floral arrangements curated by Knestrick by Design.
Drawing further inspiration from the exhibition title itself, modern touches like black chargers and flatware were paired with Southern staples like chinoiserie dinnerware and seersucker linens. As a nod to the invitation suite designed by Circa, custom magnolia drawings provided focal points throughout the Grand Lobby and Turner Courtyard.
Attendees enjoyed a multi-course, Southern-inspired menu featuring bites crafted by Kristen Winston Catering, including a spring burrata salad, filet of beef, sweet corn and field pea succotash, and Southern banana pudding.
