The annual Cheekwood Society Dinner recognized Cheekwood donors who gave $1,500 or more in 2016 in support of annual operations, as well as Cheekwood's top corporate supporters for philanthropic commitment and service to the institution. The annual dinner, which took place on the Swan Lawn of the Cheekwood Mansion, was presented by Pinnacle Financial Partners.
Cheekwood is delighted to announce that Judith and Richard Bracken received the 2017 Jane and Guilford Dudley Award for Excellence in Philanthropy for their leadership and generosity in the creation of the future Bracken Foundation Children's Garden at Cheekwood. Made possible by a $5 million lead gift from the Bracken Foundation, this new garden will leave a permanent legacy at Cheekwood and will benefit generations of children and families throughout the Nashville community and beyond.
The Corporate Award for Excellence in Philanthropy was presented to the First Tennessee Foundation for its extraordinary support of Cheekwood and the community. The First Tennessee Foundation's generous support has provided a platform for Cheekwood to present major exhibitions and programs including Chihuly at Cheekwood (2010); Visions of the American West: Masterworks from the Buffalo Bill Historical Center (2011); LIGHT: Bruce Munros at Cheekwood (2012); Songwriters Under the Stars (2014); and Dressing Downton: Changing Fashion for Changing Times (2017).
