Mark your calendar because one of Music City’s most anticipated galas is back for an unforgettable night benefitting our beloved Nashville Symphony.
On Saturday, Dec. 10, the 2022 Symphony Ball makes its return to the breathtaking Schermerhorn Symphony Center for an elegant evening of good times for an even greater cause. Chaired by Shaun Inman and Sheila Shields with Honorary Chair Martha Ingram, the white tie gala includes cocktails, a delicious dinner, and plenty of dancing through the night. The evening will also feature the presentation of the prestigious 2022 Nashville Symphony Harmony Award, which recognizes influential entertainers who exemplify the harmonious spirit of Nashville’s musical community. Selected by a dedicated committee and presented annually by the Symphony, this year’s Harmony Award recipient is the five-time GRAMMY Award-winning group, Lady A.
Over the past decade, Lady A has been recognized worldwide for countless accomplishments and endeavors both musically and philanthropically. The trio has garnered 11 No. Ones, sold 18 million albums, and earned countless honors including CMA “Vocal Group of the Year” trophies three years in a row, five GRAMMY Awards, Billboard Music Awards, People’s Choice Awards, Teen Choice Awards, and a Tony Award nomination. Seamlessly fusing country, rock, and pop to pen hits like their 9x Platinum “Need You Now” (the highest certified song by a country group), Lady A embodies a sound entirely their own that fans can’t get enough of. And through LadyAID, the group’s philanthropic fund which supports multiple initiatives around the world, the trio is passionate about using their enormous platform to make a positive impact.
In addition to the presentation of the Harmony Award, Symphony Ball attendees will be treated to a can’t-miss performance by the powerhouse group. Guests can also opt to attend the Symphony Ball Late Party, which includes cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and admission to the Lady A Harmony Award presentation and performance. Following the performance, Late Party attendees will join Symphony Ball guests on the iconic Amy Grant Stage to dance the night away. Since 1946, the Nashville Symphony has remained an integral component of Music City’s sound and culture. Internationally recognized for its innovative programming and commitment to performing, recording, and commissioning works by America’s leading composers, the GRAMMY Award-winning Nashville Symphony has enriched the lives of many. Along with producing more than 140 captivating and diverse shows annually, the Symphony is devoted to student programs and an extensive selection of educational and community engagement programs. And the annual Symphony Ball plays a critical role in raising significant funds that help support the Nashville Symphony’s unwavering commitment to the Middle Tennessee community.
“We are so honored to co-chair the 2022 Symphony Ball, and we look forward to presenting a beautiful evening of dinner, dancing, and music in the stunning Schermerhorn Symphony Center,” said Inman and Shields. “The Ball is very special to us, helping the Symphony bring exceptional artistry to the stage and free music education programs to our Middle Tennessee children. Everyone, young and old, benefits from more music in their lives.”
