Adventure Science Center
From the largest celestial bodies to the tiniest molecules on Earth, Adventure Science Center is a fun, family-friendly museum a mile from downtown Nashville. Guests of all ages can learn, explore and discover science and technology through unique interactive exhibits, ever-changing live science experiments and a world class planetarium theater. Cheekwood
From summer soirees to live music under the stars, Summertime at Cheekwood features a lineup you won’t want to miss! Thursday Night Out is back with half-priced admission, live music, bar stations, lawn games, and Cheekwood’s newest interactive outdoor exhibition Storybook Houses. Plus, every second and fourth Thursday will also feature a Cocktail Crawl. This fun walking tour will take you through the gardens as you “crawl” from bar to bar, tasting signature craft cocktails along the way.
Frist Art Museum
Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and Mexican Modernism from the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Collection, on view at the Frist Art Museum through September 2, 2019, captures the vitality and expressiveness of twentieth-century Mexican art with iconic works by Frida Kahlo, her husband Diego Rivera, and their contemporaries, including Manuel Álvarez Bravo, José Clemente Orozco, and David Alfaro Siqueiros. Among the more than 150 works on view are seven painted self-portraits by Kahlo, Rivera’s Calla Lily Vendor. Monsters & Myths: Surrealism and War in the 1930s and 1940s, on view June 21 – September 29, features works by Salvador Dalí, Luis Buñuel, Max Ernst, René Magritte, Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, and more. Nashville Underground
Located at 105 Broadway, Nashville Underground boasts the highest, largest and only double deck rooftop with 360-degree views on Broadway, while delivering an experience where you can drink, taste, and hear Nashville. The live music venue, restaurant, bar, event space and rooftop dance club, owned by brothers Joey & Gavin DeGraw, showcases Nashville’s world-famous music, cuisine, and spirits. In the heart of downtown on historic Broadway, Nashville Underground has four large levels. The menu highlights Nashville’s unique culinary palette, using locally sourced ingredients to create southern cuisine such as Nashville Hot Chicken and a myriad of innovative Nashville Hot items. All four bars include an expansive selection of locally crafted wine and spirits, as well as the coldest draft beer in Nashville, at 29 degrees. In 2019 Nashville Underground will begin construction on the 3rd & 4th floors creating Broadway’s first multi-level bowling alley and bringing Nashville Underground to occupy all 6 floors of the historic building.With three stages, a mechanical bull, a fireplace, a green grass roof, over 40 TVs, a DJ booth, and LED video rooftop dance floor, multi-genre music is featured seven days a week.The décor, designed by Anderson Design Studio, reflects a vintage industrial ambiance, paying homage to the historic transfer warehouse the building originated as and celebrates the long history of Music City. Combining all the elements which make Nashville so unique, Nashville Underground fully encompasses the city complete with a guitar shaped rooftop.
The Comedy Bar & Gino's East
Located just three blocks south of Broadway, this duo’s downtown pizzeria and comedy club is perfectly nestled between all the action that Music City has to offer. Serving a rotating line up of beers, delicious deep dish and hilarious stand-up comedy shows, this location stays true to its roots by bringing a taste of Chicago to Nashville. Both companies are based in Chicago and began their original concept in the Windy City back in 2015.“Gino’s East is a 50+ year old pizza company with deep ties in the Midwest. Goo Goo Shop
In 1912, America’s first combination candy bar was born right here in Nashville. The delightfully indulgent, roundish mound of marshmallow nougat, caramel, peanuts, and milk chocolate eventually got a name – the Goo Goo Cluster. You’ll learn this fun fact and much more if you sign up for chocolate school at the flagship Goo Goo Shop in downtown Nashville. Offered to the public every Thursday through Sunday, the hands-on ‘Taste of Goo Goo’ experience is perfect for all ages. During the hour-long class, students get to dream up their own signature chocolate confection using a plethora of ingredients like pretzels, pistachios, peanut butter, toffee bits, and toasted coconut. George Dickel
Born 40 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, George A. SOAR Adventure Tower is the ideal destination for your next Nashville adventure. Tennessee State Museum
The new 137,000-square-foot Tennessee State Museum brings history to life. A “Tennessee Time Tunnel” chronicles the state’s rich history and leads visitors though the Museum’s permanent collection. A children’s gallery wrapped in colorful murals allows young visitors to traverse the entire state by foot. Temporary galleries, multiple interactive displays and a state-of-the art digital learning center with lectures and films complete the story. Exhibitions include artifacts related to the state’s history, along with Tennessee-made art, furniture, textiles and photographs. Temporary galleries currently highlight the Museum’s impressive art and quilt collection, WWI and music, and include the award-winning exhibition — The State of Sound: Tennessee’s Musical Heritage.The Museum is located in the heart of Nashville at Rosa Parks Boulevard and Jefferson in Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park.
