The latest addition to the West Nashville beer scene is The Beer Pale, a craft-beer bar and eatery located in the old Hostess Bakery facility. When owners John Craver and Myers Lambert first planned to open a space for filling jugs of beer to go, colloquially known as growlers, they didn't intend to serve food or beer by the glass. However, they soon realized the neighborhood was growing rapidly and plunged full-speed into a kitchen and bar build-out.
The result is a cozy neighborhood restaurant with 24 craft beers on tap, including local and regional varieties; they're for sale at the bar and for carryout in growlers. Patrons can also settle in to sample flights of different brews and then take a new favorite home with them. The kitchen puts out a tight but creative menu of appetizers, salads, and sandwiches, including a Reuben on marble rye bread that is an admirable representation of the New York deli classic. The Beer Pale offers weekday happy hour deals as well as daily food specials to keep the menu fresh.
