Set in a late 1800s-era house in The Nations, Fifty First offers an intimate setting with vanilla-colored walls and dark brown accents, as well as a large patio that overlooks a massive outdoor garden. From a tiny kitchen, chef Tony Galzin pumps out a well-edited menu of Italian-inspired cuisine on a menu that runs from small plates and salads to main dishes, including a selection of pastas like tortelli filled with chanterelle and a bone-in dry-aged ribeye for two. His wife Caroline oversees the dining room, where a turntable can be found spinning tunes that range from oldies to hip-hop.
