Founded by Andy Dunn and his classmate Brian Spaly in 2007, Bonobos began as an answer to ill-fitting menswear. The brand expanded on its first run of pants to encompass casual and dress shirts, suiting, outerwear, accessories like ties and pocket squares, and a new line of active and athleisure wear, deemed GoodSport.
Driven mainly by e-commerce sales, Bonobos developed its innovative Guideshop model for men of the 'try before you buy” mentality. The Guideshop is a retail hybrid, combining the ease of an e-commerce transaction with the one-on-one customer service you'd expect at a brick-and-mortar store.
While Guideshops don't house inventory to purchase on the spot, they provide a physical space for men to shop the brand in person before placing an e-commerce order. Since Bonobos prides itself on the fit of its wares, the Guideshop model was a natural extension of the brand's retail presence online.
Bonobos' 1,550-square-foot locale in The Hill Center marks the thirtieth Guideshop across the country. Here, Hatch Show Print posters line the walls, local brews chill in the fridge, and you'll find seasonal updates and capsule collections alongside basics available year-round. Walk-ins are welcome, and appointments, shipping, and returns are always complimentary.
