Standing 25 floors high on the Western edge of downtown, the newly opened Grand Hyatt Nashville serves as the first installation in the highly anticipated, 18-acre Nashville Yards development.
Home to Nashville’s tallest outdoor rooftop bar, a fifth-floor pool deck, a world-class spa, seven dining and beverage options, and 77,000 square feet of event space, Grand Hyatt Nashville is changing the high-end hospitality game in Music City.
“This place is about approachable luxury. We designed it to really be part of Nashville so that it has this vibe to it that you walk in and you’re like, ‘Boy, this is really elegant but I feel comfortable being in this place, and walking around and exploring,’” says Joe Bucher, head of strategic design for Southwest Value Partners, the owner and developer of Nashville Yards.

Décor and design elements throughout the hotel pay homage to Nashville’s rich history in transportation, commerce, and, of course, hospitality. For more than 100 years, the site of Grand Hyatt Nashville served as the home to a transportation hub and rail yard, lumber yard, brick yard, and stone yard, and traces of its history are tactfully and tastefully interwoven throughout the hotel to create the feeling of a destination within a destination.
“It’s one of those things that you instantaneously feel when you walk into the property. We didn’t want to pay homage by hanging a guitar on the wall or doing a picture of a train against the back—we wanted to do this really in an abstract way,” explains Bucher. “We worked that in through materials, primarily, and then references that weren’t so obvious ... when we see bricks and we see brass it’s something we all recognize. You don’t have to be a designer or an architect or an artist to appreciate those things. It’s something that emotionally resonates with us as people.”

Lou|Na
Head to the 25th floor to enjoy a plate of oysters and a cocktail with a view at the hotel’s stunning rooftop bar Lou|Na. Inspired by the legendary Louisville and Nashville rail lines that passed directly through the site of the hotel for over a century, Lou|Na’s space seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor seating. And for those beautiful Nashville days, all of the walls have the ability to fold back to create a fully outdoor space perfect for taking in those soaring city views.
"It’s a really unique vantage point to the city. It’s the only place you can look down 25 stories onto Broadway and see the riverfront from there, where you’ve got enough space to be able to spread out and enjoy the whole thing,” Bucher says.

The Nashville Grange
On the lobby level, experience a reimagined take on continental cuisine and classic American fare at chef and restaurateur Sean Brock’s restaurant, The Continental. Also located on the lobby level is The Nashville Grange, specializing in “Tennessee to table cuisine” and unique Southern flavors with a modern twist; Aurum, the gilded lobby bar offering craft cocktails and local brews; Hummingbird, a coffee market featuring locally roasted Stay Golden coffee and a variety of grab-and-go items; and the Grand Club Lounge, offering morning breakfast service, all day snacks, and evening appetizers.
From the ground up, the Grand Hyatt Nashville is a beautiful representation of what visitors and locals love about Music City.
“You couldn’t take this building and put it anywhere else,” says Bucher. “This place belongs to the city now.”
