Abbey has accumulated nearly 20 years of experience as a national editor and writer specializing in lifestyle and entertainment media and trend forecasting.
Prior to joining Nashville Lifestyles, she served as Editor-in-Chief of Sounds Like Nashville, managing the staff of and overseeing all of the content for the popular music and lifestyle website.
Abbey also served as Associate Editor of Parade Magazine, a weekly print and digital title with 22 million readers, for three years. While at Parade, she authored cover story interviews with superstar artists such as Shania Twain, Tim McGraw, and Bruno Mars, and forecasted trends on the popular Picks page of the magazine.
“I couldn’t be more excited to join the team at Nashville Lifestyles. My first writing job in town was a freelance gig for this magazine, so this is a full circle moment for me,” Abbey says. “Nashville Lifestyles truly has its finger on the pulse of our ever-growing city. Having the opportunity to immerse myself in all things Nashville and to work with the magazine’s stellar team is a dream come true.”

Murray will continue to oversee some editorial features and packages; manage, edit, and write food-related content; and write regularly for the print and online platforms.
“I’m delighted that we’re growing our editorial team as I step into this new role,” Murray says. “Alison has been a longtime contributor whose knowledge base and talents perfectly complement this role. She is sure to strengthen the smart, in-the-know editorial voice that our readers have come to rely on.”
“We are excited and pleased to be growing the team. It is important for us to tell the stories of Nashville, and Alison brings great expertise,” says Publisher Brian Barry
