There are plenty of reasons to explore the glittering tower at the corner of Demonbreun and 8th Avenue South.
Home to the new JW Marriott hotel, it also contains one of the city’s great new steakhouses, a stylish lobby, and, another perk for the local public: a third-floor spa.
A quick elevator ride gets you to the Spa by JW’s check-in area and retail space, which resembles the overall hotel design with its gray marble, gold accents, white tiling, and sheer curtains.

The room overlooks the hotel’s terrace and outdoor pool. Linger here for a bit to peruse a wall lined with luxury spa products from brands like Naturabisse, Voluspa, and Patchology, as well as local items, like candles from Nellamoon.
From there, you’re brought back to the waiting area and locker rooms, small, tidy spaces that are bathed in light from floor-to-ceiling windows shrouded with sheer drapes.

A separate room overlooking the terrace houses a spacious nail room, where three cream-colored pedicure chairs are just the spot to camp out with friends. Nearby, a small, circular waiting room offers comfortable seating and drapes for privacy, as well as a station of flavored waters, tea, and a snack bar of dried fruit and trail mix. Welcome glasses of sparkling wine or rosé are offered as well.
The spa menu offers four tracks, depending on your mood. Calm for serenity and relaxation, includes a “sleep deeply” massage treatment, and a “skin comfort” facial. Indulge, meant to provide uber-pampering pleasure, might involve a basalt stone massage or a Lipocell Sculptor body treatment. Invigorate, which enlivens and clarifies, provides options like a citrus drench body wrap and facials. And Renew brings an immune boost massage or “urban cure” detox facial.

For locals on lunch break, there’s also an express menu for scalp, or neck and shoulder massages. Nail services range from signature manis and pedis to hydrating hand treatments.
The white, oval-shaped treatment rooms feel like little cocoons of comfort and feature more drapes covering the floor-to-ceiling windows. Inside, the hospitable technicians use a variety of methods for the treatments, with an emphasis on deep relaxation and comfort. So, whichever track you choose, you’re sure to leave feeling better than you did when you arrived.
