Theater Bug Ten-Minute Play Festival 2024
Theater Bug proudly presents The Theater Bug Ten-Minute Play Festival, two evenings of exciting new plays by Nashville’s best and brightest young writers. Following last year’s successful inaugural festival, the second annual Theater Bug Ten-Minute Play Festival offers audiences a chance to experience eight brand-new short plays and celebrate Nashville’s newest voices. Written by Nashville students, these ten-minute plays are full of amazing characters, beautiful language, real-life drama, and laugh-out-loud-comedy. The plays explore a wide range of contemporary topics including family relationships, unexpected connections, and the emotional toll of being the main character in a video game.
In addition to the eight new ten-minute plays, the Festival features a sneak peek from this year’s Playground Production, Megg the Egg, written by Theater Bug student, Huck Paisley. Megg the Egg was originally written as a short play for the 2023 Ten-Minute Play Festival and has been developed into a full-length play for a full production this spring at The Theater Bug.
Some plays feature mature themes and language. Please use discretion when bringing audience members under 13 years old.
