CALEB COCKRELL
Multi-Platinum singer-songwriter Jordan Davis has spent the past few years carving out an indelible place for himself in Nashville. The 2022 country music “it” guy, Davis has written radio ready hits and every man anthems that resonate with listeners. He finished out 2022 with back-to- back sold-out shows at The Ryman, two Number One songs (“Buy Dirt” with Luke Bryan and “Slow Dance in a Parking Lot”), a performance at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and his first-ever CMA Award for Song of the Year (“Buy Dirt”). In 2023 he will release a new album, Bluebird Days, which promises to further the rise of Davis’s musical star.

YEARS IN NASHVILLE: I moved June 12, 2012
HOW DID YOU GET YOUR START?
My brother and uncle were already in town writing songs, so I was able to have them help me out early on. I also met some great people that guided me in the right direction that I am still close with today.
WHO WERE YOUR EARLY INFLUENCES?
My songwriting idol was John Prine. I think he was the best to ever put pen to paper.
BREAKOUT MOMENT:
It was a slow build to where I am now and hope to continue to build on my future releases, but a big moment for me was when Bobby Bones played my first single on his show and asked me to come in for an interview just a couple of days after we released it.
WHAT SONG OF YOURS BEST SUMS UP WHO YOU ARE?
“Buy Dirt.” CMA Song of the Year is special, but mainly because it’s a song about faith and family written with my brother and two of my best friends in town. Getting to sing a song that sums up how I want to live and lead my family with my buddy Luke Bryan will be tough to top.
NEW AND NEXT:
My new record called Bluebird Days comes out February 17. “Buy Dirt” has done great things for me as a songwriter, and I’ve never been more confident to write about some of the topics I write about on this album. This record has songs about my past, my present, and hopefully my future with gratitude for what brought me where I am now. I’m really proud of this record and hope the fans are too. There are songs that are totally different from anything I’ve ever done and I’m excited for people to hear them.
