An estimated 20,000 fans packed downtown Nashville's Lower Broadway on April 4, turning out for a collision of football and new-school country music courtesy of the Tennessee Titans and Florida Georgia Line. The massive celebration was held in honor of the Titans' upcoming 20th season, with fans getting the first look at the team's overhauled uniforms and sticking around to let loose with a free concert.
Current and former players, including Marcus Mariota, Delanie Walker, Frank Wycheck, and Eddie George, all modeled the Titans' new looka combination of bold, angular designs and the team's classic two-tone blue colors, which Titans general manager Jon Robinson called 'fierce,” and controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk described as filled with 'attitude.”
Newly-minted head coach Mike Vrabel was introduced to the rowdy crowd, and Adams Strunk wondered aloud whether Nashville might be chosen to host an upcoming NFL draft, considering the huge crowd in attendance for this event. Titans play-by-play announcer Mike Keith then introduced 'the best party band you can find,” Florida Georgia Line.
The duo's Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley lived up to the hype, pulling out all the stops for a full hour of genre-defying, feel-good hits and a few surprisesincluding the first concert appearance of Hubbard's infant daughter, Robinson, Vrabel singing background on the boozy anthem 'Get Your Shine On,” and fireballs so hot they warmed the chilly crowd all the way back to 3rd Avenue.
'There's people as far as I can see,” Hubbard exclaimed, sporting one of the new jerseys and surveying the cheering crowd. 'It's an honor to be a part of this night, it's an honor to be a part of this organization, and it's an honor to be here in our hometown,” he went on, adding that he and Kelley figure the Titans will win 'a whole bunch of games this year.”
The main event closed with fireworks and FGL's 10-times Platinum smash, 'Cruise,” but the party continued at the duo's nearby FGL House with a show from rising talent Morgan Wallen, whose new single, 'Up Down,” features Hubbard and Kelley.
