Three wines available for local delivery or curbside pickup.
Pie Town Pinot Noir, $28
This urban winery and music venue may be closed, but they’re still doling out their Nashville-made wines. What’s more: They’ll deliver 12-bottle cases for free throughout the Nashville area. The selection is broad but definitely look for the 2018 Pie Town Pinot Noir. The single-vineyard pinot is sourced from Willamette Valley, Oregon, and shows off a well-rounded mouthful of stone fruit, hints of vanilla, and a somewhat smoky, earthy finish. citywinery.com/nashville
Coeur D’Avide, $24.99
Produced by Kivelstadt winemaker Sam Baron, this Sonoma Valley Pinot Noir was made in tribute to Nashville—and at one point raised funds for our city’s tornado recovery. “Coeur D’Avide was a fantastic opportunity to make a wine for a city that I love,” Baron says. It’s designed to showcase Sonoma’s terroir: elegant, savory with a pop of cranberry and raspberry fruit. But the label has Nashville roots: Designed by local artist Tasha Cortesi, the image depicts life and growth. Better yet: It pairs well with so many styles of food, and it won’t break the bank. Available at Wine Shoppe at Green Hills for curbside pickup. Call to order; 2109 Abbott Martin Rd., 615-297-5220; wineshoppegreenhills.com
Mary Taylor Wines Bordeaux Blanc, $14.99
With her eponymous label, négociant Mary Taylor sources directly from a variety of European farmers and winemakers who make wines with a sense of place—and she presents them all for less than $20. Based in New York, Taylor imports her “white label” wines from across Europe, including the smooth-drinking Bordeaux Blanc and Bordeaux Rouge, as well as an earthy, rustic Côtes du Rhône from Costiéres de Nîmes produced by winemaker Pierre Vidal. Available at The Wine Chap for delivery or curbside pickup. Call or order online; Hill Center Belle Meade, 4322 Harding Pk., 615-386-0133; thewinechap.com
If the grocery and wine stores feel terrifying, these well-loved winemakers will ship straight to you.
Cakebread Cellars
The Cakebread family has owned and operated their Rutherford, California, winery since the 1970s and now have estate vineyards from Carneros to Mendocino County. To improve production for their latest release, a 2018 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc, they’ve installed a dozen new concrete eggs in a new production facility. With its tart citrus, white flowers, and good minerality, it’s an easy, weeknight sipper. $26, cakebread.com
Bonterra
Organically and sustainably grown in Mendocino County, Bonterra’s wines are refreshingly light and easy to drink—and carry! We love the Bonterra Rosé in cans for afternoons on the porch or for a picnic in the park. It’s a vibrant, fruit-forward wine with hints of peaches and pomegranate that is good drinking on its own or with a meal. $17.99 for a four-pack; bonterra.com
