Nashville brothers Ryan and Matthew Poli are opening iggy’s, a new restaurant concept in Wedgewood-Houston that will focus on freshly made pasta, raw pasta to-go, prepared sauces, preserves, and cheeses.
The new restaurant will be located at 609 Merritt Avenue and is slated to open in the Spring of 2023.
“It’s been a lifelong dream for my brother Matthew and I to open our own restaurant,” says Executive Chef Ryan Poli. “iggy’s is an amalgamation of our favorite things – handmade pasta, craft cocktails, excellent tunes, great vibes, and genuine hospitality.”
iggy’s is inspired by Chef Ryan’s culinary experiences and training around Europe and Asia, as well his love for making fresh pasta. The menu is designed to celebrate local farmers, producers, and pasta. In addition to the restaurant, The Market at iggy’s will feature items to-go such as raw pasta (shapes, sizes, flavors, dried, and fresh), prepared sauces, cheeses, preserves, and merchandise. Guests can purchase monthly pasta subscriptions, wholesale for other restaurants, and pasta classes taught by Chef Ryan.
Poli will focus on a rotating by-the-glass wine list that will feature new up-and-coming producers mixed with classic regions and styles. The menu will also offer a concise, focused bottle list and cocktails will include classics complimented by an Aperitif, Spritzer, and Amaro drink list.
“I’m excited to have the opportunity to work with my brother again and offer Nashville a fun place to hang out and enjoy delicious dinner and drinks," says Matthew Poli.
