Friends in Low Places, the honky-tonk and bar by Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, will fully open to the public on March 7.
“If you are one of the lucky ones who come to this town and receive its many blessings, don’t you owe something to Nashville?” says Brooks. “I owe a lot to Music City.”
The Broadway bar partially opened last November, but the grand opening will unveil additional floors, including private event spaces and a rooftop bar. The 54,715-square-foot, four floor venue is the largest honky-tonk on Lower Broadway. The opening also includes a police substation developed in partnership with the Metro Nashville Police Department.
The grand opening of Friends in Low Places will feature menus created by Trisha Yearwood. Drawing from the success of Trisha’s Southern Kitchen and her array of best-selling cookbooks, the offerings throughout the four floors of the venue will provide a selection of dishes from the Yearwood family kitchen.
“I can’t imagine there being a Garth honky-tonk without Trisha Food," Yearwood says. “I’m honored to get to be a part of something so exciting and so big, and to work alongside the love of my life doing it. The whole team at Friends in Low Places is incredible!”
The First and Second Floors
The first two floors of Friends in Low Places serve as an ode to traditional honky-tonks. The setup was installed by the same team who have toured the world with Brooks, and features large LED screens with advanced audio-visual technology. The stage sits at the heart of the building where musicians perform on a custom-built, retractable stage. It features the Circle G emblem, repurposed from the Central Park stage where, to this day, Garth Brooks performed the largest concert in the park’s history. Facing the stage is a scalloped mezzanine allowing both floors to become one with the music and the party. Both floors feature two bars, ample seating, and an expansive dance floor. On the second floor, guests will find an additional two bars and a mezzanine offering a birds-eye view of the stage below.
The Third Floor
The third floor of Friends in Low Places features the venue’s trio of private event spaces, with each space designed to echo the atmosphere of Garth and Trisha’s home. Complete with a charming double-sided fireplace and an intimate patio, these areas offer gatherings of up to 250 people.
The Oasis Rooftop
The Oasis, the largest rooftop on Broadway, will have beach vibes with ten-foot palm trees. There is also retractable garage doors that blend the interior space with the open-air patio. The Oasis will feature two full bars with plenty of piña coladas to go around.
