Despite its lawfirm-sounding name, Jackson Morgan is a brand worth knowing. The line of Tennessee whiskey-based cream liqueurs was created by Mike Wetherington and Ray Steelman, and it's named after Jackson and Morgan, Wetherington's son and daughter, who serve as the company's brand ambassador/master taster and senior vice president of sales and marketing, respectively.
Based in Fayetteville, the family spent two years developing the brand and individual flavors before launching to great acclaim in 2015. Based on a blend of Tennessee whiskey and neutral grain spirits infused with natural flavoring elements, like fruits and spices, Jackson Morgan is then blended with dairy cream. The result is a line of seven delicious flavors of cream liqueurs that are fantastic sipped alone in a snifter, over rocks, or as an element of approachable, unfussy cocktails.
The current offering of Jackson Morgan varieties is made up of flavors that run the gamut from traditional to trendy. You can't get more old school than their latest flavor, Banana Pudding, the perfect dessert course to cut through a barbeque feast. Southern Bread Pudding is reminiscent of the classic New Orleans praline-like dish. Brown Sugar & Cinnamon and Peaches & Cream are actually more like breakfast flavorsmeaning nobody will judge if you add them to a festive brunch.
Whipped Orange Cream will remind you of the creamsicles of your youthbut with a slightly boozy, 30-proof punch. Salted Caramel is a hot flavor these days, and Jackson Morgan's interpretation of it is nicely balanced between sweet and salty. Pour it over ice cream or blend it into a shake for a tasty treat. Finally, Peppermint Mocha is a soft and comforting winter flavor that would be a welcome addition to any holiday gatheringor a fine gift under the tree. Since Jackson Morgan is relatively low in alcohol, it is eminently sippable on its own, no matter which particular flavor you pick as a favorite. Enjoy three delicious recipes below.
