“There’s too much good pizza in this town,” said no one, ever.
Truth is, there can never be enough.
And, so, after growing a loyal customer base for seven years at its East Nashville joint, the folks behind Five Points Pizza have brought their much-loved New York-style pie to the westside.
Five Points Pizza West has taken up residence in the Sylvan Station development on Charlotte Avenue. Not to worry—in making the move, owners David and Tara Tieman have kept the menu the same. You’ve still got your choice of 20 different pies (we love the Meatball and the Hot Hawaiian), pizza by the (generously-sized) slice, salads, craft drafts, and those irresistible garlic knots. However, they are treating guests to full-service dining in a much larger venue, at 4,600 square feet, plus a covered outdoor patio.
“When we opened Five Points East in 2011, we didn’t know how it was going to go. It was our first step in to the restaurant business, let alone the pizza business. But, since that time, we’ve grown. We’ve had such a great response from the East Nashville community, and it’s been a privilege to sling New York-style pies in our neighborhood,” David says.
For the Tiemans, the timing was right. They had racked up years of experience and a host of steadfast fans. And, despite increasing hours of service and adding a walk-up window on the east side, they’d reached the limit of what the Woodland Street space could do.
“The second location in West Nashville was a natural next step for us,” Tara adds. “The Charlotte Avenue/Nations area continues to grow and change, and we thought it was about time to bring Five Points to our friends on the westside.”
The Tiemans have been inspired by the response, which has been enthusiastic. Five Points Pizza West is filling a desired niche in the Sylvan Park/Sylvan Heights neighborhoods.
“We’ve loved meeting our neighbors and introducing ourselves to new customers,” David says. “We are excited about the continued growth of this community, and we love getting to bring our pizza to old fans of Five Points Pizza who no longer have to make the drive across town, as well as new ones who are just trying us out for the first time.”
