Being diagnosed with cancer is over-whelming for individuals of all ages. Dr. Cathy Eng, MD, FACP, FASCO is a board-certified medical oncologist, Professor of Medicine, and holds the endowed David H. Johnson Chair of Surgical and Medical Oncology at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, the only NCI-Designated Cancer Center in Tennessee.
For the past 17 years, while at MD Anderson Cancer Center, she became an internationally recognized clinical researcher in the treatment of colorec-tal, appendix and anal canal cancers. Dr. Eng was recruited in 2019 to serve in her new leadership roles as the Co-Director of Gastrointestinal (GI) Oncology and the Director of the Young Adult Cancers Initiative. Dr. Eng is creating a research program focused on promising develop-ments in the laboratory to take to the clinic for treatment options, as well as fulfilling the needs of young patients (20-45 y/o) who she recognizes face their own unique challenges.
