What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
I almost went to architecture school instead of medical school, and I still have a passion for art and design. I have enjoyed the entire spectrum of design – professionally staging homes, designing my own clinic, teaching myself how to weld furniture, and more – having creative outlets will always be an important part of my life.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
I have so much respect for small businesses! I recently opened my own membership-based primary care clinic in town, and it was a lot of work. I absolutely loved every part of the process, and it is so freeing to finally have full autonomy. After 11 years of medical training, I am so happy to finally focus on preventive care and keeping people healthy beyond what health insurance covers, and at a fraction of the cost with full price transparency.
What organization are you affiliated with and why is it important to you?
The Aloe Family and Strings for Hope. Both organizations aim to empower migrant/refugee families and victims of sexual abuse with jobs skills training, trauma-informed long-term support, and sustainable growth.
