Helping creative professionals recharge with fresh inspiration, the 2016 Story Gathering will bring wonder to the CMA Theatre this month. The two-day nonprofit conference boasts a diverse panel of presenters, like Nashville-based photographer Jeremy Cowart, Kid President creator Brad Montague, and Disney Imagineer, Nikkolas Smith. But they'll be doing more than giving speeches to an audience.
'Story is fuel for the creative class,” says Harris III. 'We're choosing speakers that won't just teach [attendees] something or just talk about their creative process, but [that] are going to inspire them by their work, their approach, the things that they're doing.”
Conference director and illusionist Harris III has centered this year's conference on a quote by Walt Disney:
'Because that's what we storytellers do. We restore order with imagination. We instill hope again, and again, and again.”
The 2016 collection of inspiring creators also includes locals CJ Casciotta, creator of the podcast Sounds Like a Movement, the band Birdtalker, and Jim Sherraden the Master Printer and Archivist at Hatch Print. Change the way you live, work, and play at the conference, September 29-30, 2016. storygathering.com
