Throughout the weekend of February 23, hundreds of people gathered together for Nashville Wine Auction's annual Pairings event.
More than $845,000 was raised at the eleventh annual event, and proceeds from the weekend will help fund the fight against cancer through local organizations who provide innovative patient treatment, cancer research, and caregiver/patient support.
The fun-filled weekend included vintner dinners hosted in private homes, a “Wined Up” wine tasting party and silent auction at City Winery, and a Pairings dinner and live auction at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel. Guests enjoyed many features from the weekend, including a five-course meal from featured chefs paired with wines from esteemed vintners, a tasting from twenty-nine featured vintners from the West Coast, a spirited live auction, and more.
“We continue to be amazed at the generosity of our donors, patrons, sponsors and supporters” says President/CEO Loren Chumley. “Our chefs knocked it out of the park with their incredible dishes. The fact that we can set a new Pairings fundraising record for our cancer-fighting beneficiaries all while having such fun sharing amazing food and wine is so incredible!”
The top four lots sold in the Pairings live auction included:
- Napa by the Numbers. This luxury trip for three couples includes five tastings, four lunches, two guest houses, one driver, and a whole lot of mountains! This sold twice for $46,000 combined.
- Napa and Sonoma on a Whole Other Level. Another wine country excursion. This sold for $21,000 to three couples.
- The Pursuit of Exceptional Pinto and Chard. A Sonoma trip that sold for $20,000 to four couples.
- The event included several wine incredible lots including a mini piano from Napa’s Grand Cru Vineyard. This collection of Lithology Beckstoffer to Kalon Cabernet Sauvignon sold for $10,000.
