In the spring of 2021, Harding Academy launched a national search for a Director of Community Engagement. After an extensive search, Jasmin Hopkins was selected. As the Director of Community Engagement, Jasmin frames the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) at Harding Academy, while leveraging her expertise to further amplify the leadership and community engagement programming at the school.
Jasmin holds a Masters of Arts in Education from Trevecca Nazarene University, a Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Fisk University, and a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Fisk University. She began her educational career in Metro Nashville Public Schools as a certified K-6 classroom teacher. Jasmin later served as a grade level and department Chairperson and as a Behavior Interventionist in Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. Jasmin also served as the Dean of Culture within the LEAD Public Schools charter school network. Prior to accepting the position of Director of Community Engagement, Jasmin was a second grade homeroom teacher at Harding Academy.
Through student and faculty DEI committees, school-wide assemblies, grade-level initiatives, and community partnerships Jasmin engages the Harding community by acknowledging, supporting, and celebrating the whole community through diversity, equity and inclusion.
