The Battle of Franklin Trust hosted its 18th annual McGavock Dinner at Carnton Plantation. The signature black tie affair benefited The Battle of Franklin Trust and featured cocktails on the historic property, followed by dinner at The Fleming Center. Guests enjoyed a menu of spinach pomegranate salad and basil and lemon crusted chicken, with salted caramel cheesecake for dessert.
Beloved jazz musician Stephanie Adlington provided live entertainment for the dinner, which was followed by a presentation and awards ceremony. Julian Bibb and Trust Chairman of the Board Marianne Schroer both received the prestigious McGavock Award, honoring their dedication and commitment to preservation of The Carter House and Carnton Plantation. Julian Bibb was also presented a historic bullet by CEO of The Battle of Franklin Trust, Eric Jacobson who personally discovered the artifact on The Carter House property. Marianne Schroer was presented with the Acknowledgement of Merger document, commemorating The Carter House and Carton Plantation as one within The Battle of Franklin Trust.
