Guests and supporters of the Heritage Foundation gathered in a tent on Main Street Franklin to celebrate 50 years of preserving the places that matter in Williamson Co. The event was complete with live music from Music City Strings, champagne, hors d'oeuvres from Red Pony Catering and a red carpet to welcome guests into the Franklin Theatre for a matinee and evening performance. Long-time residents of the community, newcomers, friends, family and supporters of the Heritage Foundation piled into the Franklin Theatre with high spirits to witness the Heritage Foundation's rich history and accomplishments over the past 50 years.
David Garrett, President of the Heritage Foundation, thanked the many individuals who volunteered time and efforts on behalf of the preservation organization. Rick Warwick, Williamson County Historian, delivered a brief history of the last 50 years and the many projects that the Foundation has championed. Children joined the stage for a demonstration with Heritage Classroom teacher Margie Thessin, and Richard Herrington of Franklin Synergy Bank spoke about the importance of the bank's involvement with Franklin's preservation efforts. Long-time supporter and board member Danny Anderson reminisced many stories of past Heritage Balls. Dr. Ken Moore, Mayor of Franklin and Rogers Anderson, Mayor of Williamson County were also in attendance and expressed their gratitude for the many years of preservation efforts. The show closed with a heartfelt thank you from Bari Beasley, CEO and a mini documentary on the Heritage Foundation, in addition to music from Peter Mayer of the Coral Reefer Band.
