How does a violin make sound? Is there an instrument that sounds like rain or thunder? Join the Symphony and Friends of Mill Ridge Park for a day of music and nature on December 14 from noon to 2 p.m. The family fun day will feature fireside stories, crafts, a nature walk, and an instrument petting zoo at the Friends’ House!
Experience one of Nashville’s favorite holiday traditions now through January 5, as glistening lights illuminate the night sky at Cheekwood’s legendary Holiday LIGHTS display. Stroll the grounds and see the gardens aglow with millions of twinkling lights. Plus, hang fireside for some s’mores, check out the bedecked historic mansion, and more. Holiday teas and daytime visits with Santa are also scheduled on select days.

Plus, step into ICE!, a winter wonderland carved by artisans out of colorful ice. For both kids and kids at heart, ICE! brings Frosty the Snowman to life using more than two million pounds of ice.
Take holiday lights to an epic new level with a festive laser show that unites modern and classic hits with stunning laser lights at Adventure Science Center. The show is thirty-six minutes long and is recommended for kiddos ages six and older. Track selections are subject to change, but include:

Now through December 26, see the Nutcracker, performed by the Nashville Ballet at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center. Dress up and bring the whole family to see this unique rendition, featuring original choreography, stunning costumes and sets, and live music by the Nashville Symphony.
Visit the country's largest lantern festival featuring magical scenes of more than 1,000 custom-made silk lanterns. Enter a realm of wonder where artists bring mythical creatures and wildlife to life in stunning scenes throughout the Zoo. Plus, visit the North Pole, a festive area full of lights, trees, and holiday fun! Santa will visit each night through December 24.
