The Nashville Symphony will perform Carmina Burana May 31 through June 3 at Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
Based on the 1930 musical work by Carl Orff, the Symphony puts a modern twist on a traditional piece.
“This will be a very different experience of Carmina Burana because of the elements we’re drawing together. We wanted to find a new way to breathe fresh life into this standard and popular work,” says Nashville Symphony COO Steven Brosvik.

Combining elements of music, dance, and film, the Symphony collaborated with the Nashville Ballet and London filmmaker Duncan Copp. These partnerships combine each artistic component perfectly, creating an unforgettable experience for audience members.
“We have all of these different elements we’re bringing together,” says Brosvik. “That’s been one of the most interesting things, and I think it’s really stretched everyone’s current and perceived abilities and stretched what we thought we could accomplish artistically together.”
