The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum, in partnership with YouTube and the country music community, will come together for one night to host the biggest digital fundraiser in the museum's history.
BIG NIGHT (At the Museum) will premiere at 8 p.m. CST on Wednesday, October 28 on the museum's YouTube channel. The free, live program will feature performances by some of country music's biggest stars and generate support for the museum and its ongoing work with exhibitions and educational programs.
Since COVID-19 forced the Country Music Hall of Fame® to shutter its doors in mid-March, the museum has not only suffered significant financial losses but has also had to cancel many of its planned educational events. BIG NIGHT will support the institution’s ongoing work of education and interpretation by encouraging viewers to donate to the museum through YouTube Giving.
The pandemic created a unique set of circumstances that allowed museum staff to safely remove historic instruments from their exhibit cases and be played. For BIG NIGHT, instruments will be carefully paired with artists according to their emotional and artistic connections.
Participating artists include Alison Brown, Kane Brown, Carlene Carter, Rodney Crowell, Emmylou Harris, Miranda Lambert, Ashley McBryde, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Keb’ Mo’, Brad Paisley, Ricky Skaggs, Marty Stuart, Dan Tyminski, The War and Treaty, and Lucinda Williams. The evening will be hosted by Marty Stuart with audio supervision by Dave Cobb.
