Meet Pixie the Papillon, our 2022 Cutest Pet Photo Contest winner!
With 90 entries, the almost two-year-old pup emerged from the competition as top dog. For owners Angela and Chas Miller, the power of Pixie is nothing new. In fact, they felt it from the moment she joined their family.
“I had lost my soul dog, Precious, in October of 2020,” says Angela. “She was about to turn fifteen years old. Around that time my husband found Pixie through Facebook from a breeder in Mississippi. She truly came into my life at a time when I needed her most.”
Not only was Pixie the perfect pal to add to the Miller family, but she just might be Nashville’s most fashionable dog, too. From doggie couture dresses to stunner shades, Pixie has a wardrobe that deserves a round of a-paws!
How old is Pixie?
She was born in August of 2020, so she is almost two.
How did Pixie get her name?
We were told that she wouldn’t be more than three or four pounds—even though we know that you never can tell that until they’re grown. She was so tiny when we got her.
How many brothers and sisters does Pixie have?
Pixie has a total of five siblings including a Pomeranian named Foxy, a rescue Chihuahua named Money, and a rescue Hairless Chinese Crested named Harry. My husband has two English Bulldogs named Kegger and Maddie, too, so we’re a large blended family!
How many different outfits does Pixie have? What’s her favorite?
She literally has more clothes and accessories than I do. Pixie loves going to dog events and showing off her attire. Her favorite outfit would be a red, white, and blue dress that she wore to Patriotic Pup Night at The Mall at Green Hills.
What are Pixie’s favorite activities?
She loves chasing her brother and sisters around the house. Her brother will be fifteen this June and has a hard time keeping up with Pixie, but he loves to try! Her sisters try to ignore her shenanigans, but usually fail. She also loves waking her dad and myself up every morning with a squeaky toy pressed against our faces. This past year she really enjoyed attending several different dog events, especially those at The Mall at Green Hills. Pixie and her brother loved dressing up for the Patriotic Pup Night and the Bow Wow Luau. Her dad also bought her a remote controlled Bentley that she loves riding in! She gets to sit back while dad or mom does all the steering for her. Pixie also loves to play the piano—for treats, of course!
What’s her favorite snack?
Pixie loves going to Starbucks to get a Puppuccino and she loves chicken nuggets from Chick-fil-A.

How has your life changed since bringing her into it?
I was so heartbroken after losing my best friend (or soul dog, as I like to call her) who had been by my side since I was eighteen. Pixie was able to make me smile on days I just wanted to cry. She has such an outgoing and happy attitude. Her loving and bubbly personality was just what I needed in my life. I can’t imagine our life without her in it now.
Where are Pixie’s favorite spots to visit in Nashville?
She loves the Fair Park Dog Park and loves eating with us at Double Dogs on Charlotte Avenue.
