The buzz is building for Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee’s seventh annual Red Door Bash, set for Saturday, October 19, at The Omni Nashville Hotel.
This is the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year and offers a chance to join the fight against cancer as Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee offers free cancer support across 15 Middle Tennessee counties. The Red Door Bash promises an elegant evening with a delicious three-course dinner and wine pairings. Guests will also have the chance to bid on items in a silent auction, which includes a luxurious Leiper’s Fork Getaway and unique Black River Studio Experience. Additionally, original artwork by Harold Kraus will be available for purchase through the auction.
“Every year, we look forward to gathering our community and celebrating at the Red Door Bash,” says Harriet Schiftan, President and CEO of Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee. “It’s an evening meant to bring awareness and support to people impacted by cancer and take time to thank our community and volunteers for their support. This year’s event co-chairs, Lori Fishel and Beverly Davenport, have planned an amazing evening.”
Guests will be treated to an engaging program that will honor several exceptional individuals and organizations. This year’s Red Door Champion Award will be presented to Steve and Helen Lane, while Scott Perry and The Memorial Foundation will receive the Shining Star Award. Elaine Dorris will be honored with the Nancy Saturn Award of Inspiration.
“Gilda’s Club is really a community-wide effort,” says Schiftan. “We couldn’t do it without them because we exist to serve the community and couldn’t do it without their support.”
While Red Door Bash brings fun, the lasting impact is much larger.
“It’s a really heartfelt and mission-filled evening. We want people to have a great time, but we want them to know that if you’re buying a ticket that most of it is going to support people with cancer and their loved ones,” Schiftan says.
Offering expert-level support equipped with a wealth of knowledge and personalized care to people impacted by cancer for the last 25 years, the nonprofit is often referred to as a “safety net” by participants. Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee provides free group support, resources, classes, workshops, and more to all ages, regardless of how they are affected by the disease. To those who are hesitant about reaching out for help, the nonprofit wants them to know that if cancer has entered their life, they’re already a member.
Together, Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee aims to make a difference and continue to provide vital support to those facing cancer. Individual tickets are priced at $300 each and include access to the cocktail reception, dinner, and auction.
