With Music City’s ever-changing landscape, visiting parts of town you don’t always frequent can feel like discovering a hidden gem for the very first time. We’ve rounded up five Nashville neighborhoods to fall in love with all over again. Check out one of the neighborhoods below:
Sylvan Park
Old and new Nashville blend together in perfect harmony in Sylvan Park. One of Nashville’s most storied residential neighborhoods, Sylvan Park is also home to trendy mixed- use spaces like L&L Market and Sylvan Supply. Located on Charlotte Avenue at the entrance of Sylvan Park is the re-use development, Sylvan Supply. The historic Madison Mill compound got a modern revamp to become a hub for creative office spaces and an impressive selection of retail and dining concepts, including Radish Kitchen, Punk Wok, Bearded Iris, Otaku Ramen, Red Perch, and more. Sylvan Supply tenants also include Pure Barre and ElàMar Esthetics Boutique, along with a variety of others to provide a wide range of services all in one central location.
Similarly, L&L Market has captured the hearts of Nashvillians and visitors alike. The one-stop destination is home to more than 20 businesses and many familiar faces. Some of the complex’s dining options include Culture + Co., which serves up charcuterie favorites on a conveyor belt; Five Daughters Bakery; Gracie’s Milkshake Bar; and Penne Pazze, to name a few. Wellness offerings are featured throughout the space, such as Cycle Bar and Bend and Zen Hot Yoga, along with several other lifestyle shops. There are also plenty of shopping opportunities to shop luxe retail locales like The Barefoot Cottage, Imago Dei, Judith Bright, Amelia’s Flowers, Happily Grey, and more.

Mary Lawless Lee, founder and face of the influential fashion blog Happily Grey, saw the neighborhood’s value when she chose L&L Market as the location for her store.
“The building itself is what initially drew me in. The history and architecture is stunning. There’s such loyalty and a neighborhood feel between business owners. I feel lucky to be part of this community,” Lee says. “This area is changing so fast with the emergence of small businesses and franchises. It’s been inspiring to be a part of the movement happening in West Nashville.”
That community-oriented nature stretches throughout Sylvan Park. Neighborhood favorites like Answer, Lola, and more are the perfect local haunts for residents to dine where everybody knows their name. And, of course, Sylvan Park still represents the old guard favorites Nashvillians can’t get enough of, like Bobbie’s Dairy Dip, which has been delighting locals with sweet treats, burgers, and nostalgic flare since 1951. Others like Hattie B’s, M.L. Rose Craft Beer & Burgers, and Edley’s Bar-B-Que offer up fare for regulars and newbies alike.
