2024 EXHIBITION: “GLORY MUSIC CITY”CALL FOR ART APPLICATION CFA Deadline: Friday, December 8, 2023 at Noon
The Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville, in partnership with the Nashville Soccer Club (NSC), is thrilled to announce a Call for Art for artists to display works inside the Soundwaves Gallery at GEODIS Park for the 2024 Nashville Soccer Club season. The Soundwaves Gallery, located in the VIP Suites Corridor, will showcase a variety of Nashville’s finest visual art all season long, elevating the Suite experience for guests while also providing a high-visibility exhibition and sales opportunity for artists. The Soundwaves Gallery will also be shown to all guests as a feature during Stadium tours. Pieces will be displayed in the Gallery for the entirety of the season with the option for any Stadium guest to purchase the artwork, with pick-up/delivery of the work after the conclusion of the season.
Interested artists must be local to Nashville, and/or reside in the Greater Nashville area.
The exhibition theme for the 2024 season is “Glory Music City” with the gallery being a celebration of the unique identities of the neighborhoods in Nashville and surrounding areas. Artists may submit up to five works to be considered for the exhibition. Most 2D and 3D mediums are acceptable, including but not limited to: painting, photography, mixed media, wood, block and screen printing, some types of sculpture, etc. Works may be pre-existing or created new for the purpose of this exhibition. Works should not use any of NSC's or its affiliate’s trademarks, logos, service marks, symbols, trade names or other intellectual property for any purpose whatsoever without Team’s prior written consent.
The application must include image(s) of the work, an artist statement, and a narrative explaining the submitted works’ significance and relation to the theme. Each work must be no larger than 6 feet tall or 6 feet long and may have a retail value of no more than $5,000. It is preferred that submitted pieces are prepared for Gallery presentation at the time of application, and any pieces needing a frame will ideally be in a simple black, white, or wood frame. However, unframed works may still be considered.
A Community Art Committee composed of NSC stakeholders, community leaders, and curatorial experts will select the final works for display. The number of final works will be informed by the applications submitted and space available in the Soundwaves Gallery.
NSC will pay selected artists 10% of the retail price as a “rental fee” for displaying their work during the season. This fee will be paid to artists within 6 weeks of the Gallery install, and deducted from the sales price should the piece be purchased. Proceeds from artwork sales will be split among the artist (deducting the initial rental fee) and Nashville Soccer Club 70%/30%. Sale payouts will be made to artists within six weeks of a sale of their work. Works that do not sell will be returned to the artist after the conclusion of the season.
Questions about the exhibition, rental fees, or this Call for Art may be sent to info@abcnashville.org.
