In honor of Mother's Day, we asked 5 artists to share their favorite memory with their mom:
Ashley McBryde
"It’s all about the little things for me. Things as simple as ‘sure honey’ or just walking into the kitchen for a drink in the middle of the night and seeing a light left on for me. She always made sure I knew I had a loving place to come back to, plus she gives the best advice!"
Ryan Hurd
"I remember when I was first getting into music and my mom taking me to guitar stores to look at instruments. It was a really big deal for me to get my very first good acoustic guitar... and then my first electric guitar. I still play Gibson guitars because I’m from Kalamazoo, Michigan where Gibson started, and because that was the first guitar that me and my mom went and got together. So now every time I get to play music, I think of my family and my mom just because she was so supportive in those early days."
Anne Wilson
"One of my favorite memories with my mama was filming the music video for Mamas. It was such a special day to honor and thank her for the incredible mother she is. We had such an emotional day capturing our love for one another! I’ll never forget it!"
Levi Hummon
"My Mom, Becca Stevens, raised me and my brothers to walk the walk. Her work with Thistle Farms taught us the value of investing in others and always giving back to the community. I remember watching her organization grow from a single candle being made in the back of St. George’s in Belle Meade, to now a massive warehouse on Charlotte. Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing Moms out there."
Jordana Bryant
"I have so many favorite memories with my mom, but one that sticks out to me and always makes me smile is a tradition we started during my freshman year of high school. I had just switched schools and I was having a hard time making friends and getting settled into the new environment, so every day when I got home from school, to cheer me up, she would put on Gilmore Girls, our favorite tv show, make some snacks, and we would just have some mother-daughter time. We both LOVE cookie dough, and one day when we were at the grocery store we found a giant tub of tollhouse cookie dough, so we bought it and every day my mom would pull it out for us to eat while we watched our favorite show. We even stored it in a spare fridge in the garage so my brother and dad didn’t see it and eat it all haha. This is one of my favorite memories with my mom because it made it so that no matter how hard of a day I was having at school, I had something to look forward to when I got home. I’m truly so blessed to have such an amazing mom."
