Nashville continues to play host to some of music’s best and brightest. Here are the performers we’re watching in 2022—and you should, too.
Brooke Eden
Lauded for her commanding stage presence and brassy straight-shooting style, vocal powerhouse Brooke Eden has been making a name for herself in Nashville for a while. But with her latest trio of songs—“No Shade,” “Sunroof,” and “Got No Choice”—she has solidified her country music stardom. In fact, the “Sunroof” music video earned over seven million views and hit number one on iTunes just 48 hours after its premiere, and the “Sunroof” music video beat out Silk Sonic (Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak) for the number one all-genre position.
It also secured a well-deserved nomination at the 2021 CMT Awards for Best Family Feature. That family member? Eden’s real-life fiancée Hilary Hoover. Once told that coming out would end her career, Eden decided love was worth the risk and reintroduced her true self to the country music community. She was embraced with open arms. Eden proudly represented Nashville in Spotify’s global Pride Event in 2020, going on to perform at several other 2021 Pride Festivals and LGBTQ+ celebrations. In June 2021, she made history with Trisha Yearwood at the Grand Ole Opry—find out how below.
Hometown: West Palm Beach, FL
Years in Nashville: March 2022 will mark ten years of me living in Nashville.
How did you get your start? I started singing with my dad’s local country band when I was five years old. I caught the bug all the way back then and finally was able to move to Nashville after college.
Breakout moment: I won a contest to sing “Baby Girl” with Sugarland in my hometown. It seemed like everyone in the crowd was videoing that night, and it ended up going semi-viral on YouTube. Jon Loba came across the video and asked me to come into the office and play some songs. A couple of weeks later, I signed my record deal with BBR Music Group!
Most exciting thing to happen in your career (so far): Singing “She’s In Love With The Boy” switched to “She’s In Love With The Girl” onstage at the Grand Ole Opry with Trisha Yearwood to celebrate Pride Month and my engagement to my love, Hilary.
What song of yours best sums up who you are or your career/life thus far? “Got No Choice” is pretty fitting of my life for the past six years. It’s sunny and soulful with real-life lyrics and a chorus that anyone who’s in love with someone can sing!
New or Next: I just recorded five new songs with my producer, Jesse Frasure. It’s sunshine soul with steel guitar solos that make me feel like I’m back in the honky tonks.
