And to put a Tennessee spin on the summer sipper, we asked our friends at the Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery bar to share some refreshing recipes to get you through the long, hot summer.

Whiskey in a tiki drink? Oh yeah, we went there. This Tennessee-born boat drink was created by Rachel Ramirez, Lead Mixologist at Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery. (1414 Clinton St., greenbrierdistillery.com)
2 oz Nelson’s Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey
.75 oz lemon juice
.5 oz passionfruit puree .25 oz grenadine
2 dashes tiki bitters
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker, add ice, and shake until chilled. Strain into a glass or tiki mug over pebble ice and garnish with a lemon wheel and orchid.

2 oz Nelson’s Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey
1⁄2 oz Crème de Peche 3⁄4 oz Lemon Juice
1⁄2 oz Orange Juice
1⁄2 oz Demerara Syrup
Shake, strain over fresh ice, and garnish with an orange peel.
