Underground Cocktail Club on Instagram.
The Underground Cocktail Club in Chicago is expanding its footprint to Nashville.
TV personality, actor, and entrepreneur Billy Dec is evolving the name of his nightlife concept to include “The Blueprint.” Paying homage to the legacy of Printers Alley and the original print shop that stood on the same grounds, The Blue Print Supply Co., The Blueprint Underground Cocktail Club will open in the Spring of 2024.
A multi-faceted venue, The Blueprint is designed to showcase different types of events and live music performances.
“I’ve always been in awe around the legacy of Printers Alley, especially the incredibly colorful, disruptive, edgy, and groundbreaking evolutions between fifty to one-hundred years ago," says Dec. "Its the spirit of inspiration, unbridled creativity, expression, revelry, and imagination... and sharing that with the world was of the utmost importance when we set out to create and elevate the level of upscale nightlife for Nashville. Our hope is to be a new home and heartbeat for creatives and locals.”
Dec partnered with architecture, interior, and construction firm, Powell, plus nightclub designer, Marc Dizon, to design the space.
"We wanted to pay homage to the alley's rich history as a hub for print shops, publishers, and storytelling," Dec says. “The Blueprint Supply Co. was the actual name of the print shop that stood on our foundation and we pay respect to all who contributed to Printers Alley history by naming it The Blueprint. There’s so much history to tell and history to make here. We can’t wait to share it with everyone in Nashville.”
