Spread Market & Larder, a neighborhood market with a selection of grocery items, homemade bread, daily sandwiches, grab-and-go snacks, beer, and cider is now open in Germantown!
The market is located at 1330 5th Avenue North in a historic 1920s home that was converted into at the retail space designed by Smith Gee Studio. The renovation included a 366-square-foot addition. The exterior facade was updated with a fresh coat of paint, but otherwise was left as is. Inside, the house’s original floors and bead boards were left intact, and the original door frames and molding were reused throughout the space. Locally made tables and shelving display pre-packaged goods, including artisan olive oil, tinned fish, and spices sourced from around the world.
“During the renovation process, Dowdle Construction took great care to help us maintain as much of the inherent charm of the house as possible,” says Chad Kelly, owner of Spread Market & Larder. “Germantown is an incredibly special neighborhood, and it is important to build on the legacy that many before us have worked hard to create. The space is beautiful, and we cannot wait for the community to come see us.”
Spread Market & Larder is open Thursday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
