Before the Beatles ever became a global phenomenon, teenage girls were falling all over themselves to spend one night in the presence of The Voice himself, Frank Sinatra.
In October of 1944, more than 35,000 hopelessly devoted “bobby soxers” swarmed the Paramount Theatre to achieve levels of teenage hysteria that wouldn’t be seen again until the Fab Four came along. Completely under Sinatra’s spell, these adoring fans dubbed him the “Sultan of Swoon.” As an homage to that blush of youth and fervent adoration, Sinatra Bar & Lounge developed what may just be the perfect Cosmopolitan: The Sultan of Swoon. Grey Goose Le Citron gets a silky-smooth bitter orange kick from the classic Grand Marnier, a splash of freshly squeezed lime and cranberry bitters (instead of the old standby cranberry cocktail). Those bitters were chosen to keep the drink as pale as any respectable Cosmo should be, and to ensure you’re enjoying a stiff cocktail and not something that evokes memories of the juice boxes of your youth. Just as Ol’ Blue Eyes would’ve wanted. Cheers! (222 4th Ave. N, 615-866-2224; sinatranashville.com)
