Although there is a menu of sandwiches, salads, and burritos, 12 South Taproom is first and foremost a beer bar. Almost 30 varieties rotate here regularly, and the coolers are stocked with more than 100 domestic and imported beers in bottles and cans, making it one of the biggest beer menus in town.

3 Crow Bar

The Beer Pale

This casual beer and sandwich joint offers a place to relax with a pint as well as growlers to take with you. The 24 rotating-tap list sticks mostly to Tennessee options, like Wiseacre from Memphis. They’ve recently updated their menu, so you can now order a Porter Road Butcher hot dog as well as brunch on weekends.

Broadway Brewhouse

Butchertown Hall

Germantown residents now have a shrine to good beer as well as a beer garden in which to enjoy it. In addition to plenty of well-known craft beers, Butchertown is working with eight local and regional breweries to craft special recipes that can only be found at their bar (look for Little Harpeth’s Bison Bock here). Pair one of them with a sausage plate grilled over an open wood fire.

Flying Saucer

This true beer hall, complete with plates lining the walls, is where many Nashvillians first discovered the joys of craft brews. With more than 100 tap handles, Flying Saucer is a great place to drink your way around the world while enjoying sausages, sandwiches, and Bavarian-style pretzels.

Hops & Crafts

This airy Gulch hideaway boasts one of the city’s most extensive regional lists on tap; all 36 beers are available to go in growlers or by the pint. The Hop Stop

Everybody we know likes to play games while they drink beer, which is why The Hop Stop feels like a brilliant East Side addition. M.L. Rose

Originally the Melrose Pub, this rebranded space has stayed true to its roots and remains a well-worn (and well-loved) neighborhood gathering spot for burgers. Beer plays a prominent role, too, with a selection of 80 different brews, including 30 on tap and a list that changes seasonally. Stumped by the sheer number of options? The second outpost of this Melrose original opened inside a 1920s car dealership on Charlotte Avenue in 2012, bringing west siders a spacious beer and burger joint, complete with an outdoor patio and beer garden. The Pharmacy Burger Parlor & Beer Garden

Known largely for their burgers and sausages, The Pharmacy also boasts an impressive beer menu with a particular focus on German brews. The backyard biergarten is designed around rows of intentionally narrow tables to encourage lively discussion and socializing over a pint.

The Stone Fox

Opened in an old cottage in 2012 by a couple of young music-loving siblings, The Stone Fox has become a beloved west side hang.
