Former music industry exec and Nashville-resident, John Ingrassia, is opening Ingrassia & Sons, an Italian deli and market in Wedgewood Houston.
The deli and market will offer Italian-American sandwiches and prepared food, groceries, wine and beer, gelato, espresso, and more. The 1700-square-foot storefront, situated on the ground floor of Martin Flats will have both indoor and outdoor seating.
“Wedgewood-Houston is a relatively unique neighborhood for Nashville, with its high concentration of business and residential buildings side-by-side, all within walking distance of our shop," says Ingrassia. "The transformation of the neighborhood has been slow and steady the past few years but is set for explosive growth over the next couple. We’re also incredibly lucky to be in Martin Flats. Its unique micro-suite concept is a perfect fit for a deli/grocery."
Over the past year, Ingrassia has been catering meals for companies in the music industry as well as personal celebrations. Ingrassia, who learned to cook from his Neapolitan grandmother and Sicilian grandfather and later honed his skills at the French Culinary Institute (now known as the Institute of Culinary Education), will be cooking up both classic and modern takes on traditional Italian deli dishes.
