Charlotte-based The 5th Street Group's first restaurant concept in Nashville—and all of Tennessee—is now open in the heart of Downtown Nashville on 4th Avenue between Church and Union Street.
Church and Union will be added to their portfolio, which includes 5Church Charlotte, 5Church Charleston, La Belle Helene, and Tempest Restaurant. The 5th Street Group is owned and operated by Top Chef Alum Jamie Lynch, Alejandro Torio, and Patrick Whalen.
The 5,902-square-foot space is outfitted with a massive white concrete bar, camel velvet banquettes, eye-catching chandeliers and floral arrangements created weekly. Art is at the heart of the design, with the focal point being a hand-painted ceiling which showcases all 11,450 words of Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War,” a project which took artist Jon Norris more than thirty-seven days to complete. The ceiling is complemented by a 5th Street Group signature five-dollar bill painting by artists Matt Hooker and Rodney Raines; at over nine-feet-tall, it illustrates noteworthy Nashville landmarks and people.
Nestled along Fourth Avenue, the patio will seat fourteen, while indoor tables will seat 134 and the bar will seat twenty-eight. Church and Union is now serving dinner, and lunch and brunch services will be added at a later date.
