Indoors and out, RH Nashville | The Gallery at Green Hills is a visitor’s delight, where luxury home furnishings, food, wine, and art come together for a wholly reimagined retail experience.
The 70,000-square-foot structure, conceptualized by RH chairman and CEO Gary Friedman and designed by architect James Gillam of Backen, Gillam & Kroeger, features a gray Venetian plaster exterior with grand French doors that open to an elegant lounge space and dramatic glass atrium beyond. There, beneath a sparkling iron and crystal chandelier, sits a café dining space surrounded by heritage olive trees and filled with the sounds of a 12-foot fountain.
Framed by two wine vaults and a barista bar, RH Café is led by award-winning restaurateur Brendan Sodikoff and offers a seasonally focused menu, with everything from fresh-pressed juices to grilled cheese to steak frites, complemented by a comprehensive wine program.
Beyond food, each of the four floors is designed as a series of arranged galleries, where visitors can move through classically designed vignettes outfitted in various RH collections, including RH Interiors, RH Modern, RH Baby & Child, RH Teen, and RH Outdoor.
“RH Nashville reflects our ongoing quest to revolutionize physical retailing by seamlessly integrating food, wine, art and design,” Friedman says. “We don’t build retail stores. We build inspiring spaces that blur the lines between residential and retail, indoors and outdoors, home and hospitality—spaces that activate all of the senses and cannot be replicated online.”
As part of the RH Members Program (which requires an annual fee), members have access to one-on-one design consultations, as well as additional discounts throughout the year. The second floor Design Atelier, with its large custom tables, offers an interactive space where RH’s team of professional interior designers collaborate with clients, where everything from leather and fabric swatches to hardware and linens, are within arm’s reach.
While the first two floors highlight RH’s timeless appeal and signature with calming hues, the third floor has a decidedly different feel. It’s home to the artfully designed spaces of RH Baby & Child and RH Teen, and nearly 10,000 square feet is dedicated RH Modern, a newer collection that keeps the focus on fine materials and maximum comfort, while shifting to a minimalist contemporary aesthetic.
As visitors ascend toward the final stop, the rooftop deck, stairwells adorned with layer upon layer of helix crystal chandeliers and a collection of gilded mirrors lead the way, both reflecting the natural light that streams through vast expanses of glass. At the top, an open-air Conservatory & Rooftop Park rewards with lush greenery, exotic plants, more chandeliers, fountains, and outdoor furnishing that are sure to inspire the way guests think about all of their living spaces.
