Alyssa Rosenheck
When Alyssa Rosenheck, a self-taught interiors and architectural photographer, first picked up a camera seven years ago she had no clue that what started as a cathartic outlet would become a celebrated career.
At the time, Rosenheck was healing from cancer and looking for an escape.
“My camera was a tool,” she says. “It liberated me and connected me to a completely different life that I never thought would ever happen. It connected me to my dreams.”
Now the in-demand photographer has made a career out of capturing beautiful images and has even wrote the book on the subject. Literally. Her tome, The New Southern Style, a compilation of conversations and home tours with people from all over the South, hit shelves September 22.
But between finishing the book and its release a pandemic hit. Rosenheck saw a need to pivot in her own business, and knew others would be seeking the same.
“I knew I was only one of many small business owners out there quickly figuring out a new route,” she says. “The question at the core of my foundation has always been: ‘How can I continue to provide added value, service, and resources to my clients and community alike?’
Social distancing and travel restrictions presented a new challenge for photography and content creation. And as we move our lives more and more online, visual currency is more valuable than ever. I wanted to find a way for small businesses to still have the tools to yield professional images to confidently communicate their brands.”
Her solution? AR Preceptive Presets, six simple-to-install and straightforward to use preset photo settings that allow photographers to capture and edit images directly from their phones.

“These presets take a ‘prescriptive’ approach that lets the environment you are photographing dictate which one is best to use. Whether you’re shooting a dark wall, in a warm-hued room, or a space that just needs a little zhoosh, I’ve designed a preset specifically for it,” she says.
“I’ve spent my career as a photographer studying light and shadows and these presets are informed by that expertise. So, all you have to do is select the preset for your situation, save, and continue to communicate your brand to the world.”
Rosenheck has worked hard to make the presets as camera-ready as possible.
“Each package comes with detailed instructions for foolproof installation so you can get to the fun part faster, plus I have included helpful shooting tips and tricks,” she says of the presets, which are available in three bundles on her website.
For Rosenheck, who has always loved the connections she makes through her photography, hearing from those who use the product has been the most rewarding part of the new venture.
“The feedback has been great as I am teaching small businesses the confidence to be their own brand builders and visual storytellers. The Prescriptive Presets have allowed me to continue to share my knowledge and creativity, champion small businesses and creatives, and ultimately, put creative power back in their hands,” she says.
“I created these for anyone with a dream, a creative business, a curiosity about photography, and of course, all design enthusiasts, designers and architects out there. It is my hope that anyone with a creative light can use these as a tool to grow a business, pivot their life path, and/or simply express and explore their authentic creativity.”
