Drug Store Coffee

Drug Store Coffee is the latest entry in Andy Mumma’s growing Barista Parlor empire. Opened in late 2017, Drug Store is located off the lobby of Noelle, the much-anticipated revitalization of a 1930s hotel property adjacent to Printers Alley. Drug Store features offerings similar to other Barista Parlor locations in East Nashville, Germantown, and Golden Sound in the Gulch, with ground-to-order pour-over coffees and house-made signature drinks. Like all BP locations, Mumma worked closely with Bryce McCloud of Isle of Printing to create the packaging, menu, signage, and art throughout the 1,500-square-foot space.

Cafe Roze

On the corner of Porter and Greenwood sits this “roze x93-colored all-day café. Hailing from New York, chef Julia Jaksic brews up quick to-go coffees and serves sit-down meals (most notably the Harissa Chicken, Broccoli Toast, and, of course, the hearty Roze Bowl). At Cafe Roze, if the fresh coffee isn’t cutting it for you, Jaksic has you covered with refreshing, flavorful cocktails, ranging from classic Manhattans to grapefruit-filled daiquiris. Aside from the local, fresh ingredients and strong coffee, Cafe Roze’s in-house color-scheme and overall aesthetic set it apart.

Frothy Monkey (The Nations)

At just over 3,500 square feet and 150 seats, this Frothy Monkey locale is about twice the size of its 12 South predecessor. The space is designed to serve a wide variety of customers with a mix of seating, including tables, booths, bar stools, community tables, and private dining. Here, you’ll find an approachable space, filled with families enjoying brunch, an ideal date spot, or the perfect place to sit and work.

Killebrew

Located on the ground floor of the Thompson Nashville hotel, Killebrew is a neighborhood coffee shop serving up Revelator coffee and house-made pastries daily. Catch Killebrew After Dark on Friday and Saturday nights, when baristas sling coffee into cocktail glasses.

Kona Espresso Bar

Kona Espresso Bar is the second Nashville venture for brothers Ryan and Justin Buttner and their longtime friend Robert Kane—the New York natives also started Bare Naked Bagel. At the Demonbreun storefront, you’ll find coffee (both local and Kona regional blends), tea, smoothies, and juices, as well as healthy breakfast, lunch, and snack options.

Milk & Honey Nashville

Made-from-scratch sips, scoops, and sweets are at the heart of Milk & Honey, which debuted four years ago in Chattanooga. When Mike and Taylor Monen brought the brand to Nashville late last fall, they broadened its scope—the Gulch venue is also an all-day café, offering breakfast through dinner. You can walk up to the espresso counter for a cappuccino, find your place at a café table in the dining room, or slide on to a stool at the bar to order a craft beer or one of the clever specialty cocktails, such as “Milk Money. x93

Sump Coffee

Impressed with the culinary scene and the community roasters in Nashville, Scott Carey, owner of the St. Louis coffee joint and roaster Sump Coffee, has opened up shop in Nashville's ONEC1TY development. The nearly all-glass, minimalist coffee shop promises the same high-quality product that it's known for in St. Louis, with "a slightly cleaner, softer, and a bit more tea-like cup," due to a different water filtration system in Nashville. Regardless, the top-of-the-line wholesale beans and pure espresso shots will gain approval from even the most seasoned coffee connoisseurs.

The Well Coffeehouse (Downtown)

The Well, “where coffee changes lives," is a missional business that donates water to those in need each time a customer purchases a beverage. A charmingly cozy spot with a new location downtown, The Well serves seasonal drinks (like the Black Bear, which blends blackberries with brown sugar and cardamom), espressos, exotic coffees, breakfast, and lunch. Bringing their talents from Down Under to Nashville, Steve and Natasha Gordijn are serving up Melbourne-style flat whites, lattes, and brekkie in Belle Meade. Named after the latitudinal coordinates of their birthplaces (Melbourne, AT and Auckland, NZ), 37 Degrees Sth reflects its roots with blown-up photographs of Australian cities and wild, natural vines growing over the white walls. Between the Nutella Hot Chocolate, Avo Smash, and gourmet sandwiches, customers catch a close-to-home glimpse of Aussie coffee shop culture.
