Annie Williams

When Annie Williams moved to Nashville for her record label, she never imagined she’d be starting a leather goods business. But, after her music left her uninspired, Williams’ creative juices steered her toward sewing. One thing lead to another, and now she makes all her designs out of a Germantown studio with leather sourced from Chicago, selling them in boutiques around town.

Designer Brooke Hagaman prides herself on doing everything in shop—from cutting, sewing, hammering, and assembling to handpicking each of the leather hides used for her bags. Ceri Hoover

After getting her start in the custom furniture business with her first store, Cooper Grey, Ceri Hoover discovered that some pillowcases might also make nice handbags. The few she sold in shop became such a huge hit, that Hoover decided it was time to expand, and Ceri Hoover bags officially launched in January 2013. The premium leather handbags are simple in style, high in quality, and always crafted in America.

Emil Erwin

Owned and operated by Emil and Leslie Congdon, this leather goods studio grew from a hobby to a full-fledged business in early 2010. Since then, the company has expanded from handcrafted bags and totes to belts, wallets, and a growing line of women’s products, as well. The leather is sourced out of Chicago’s Horween Leather Company, and all the patterns are made, cut, and sewn at the shop in Nashville.

Hunker Bags

Hunker Bags first came to life on the road. Green River Ordinance drummer, Denton Hunker, was touring extensively and needed a more fashionable, durable travel carrier. He went home and made one! Now, with their waxed canvas, leather from Tandy Leather Co., and various sizes, Hunker’s bags are custom-made and available for musicians and everyone else to enjoy.

Still a young company, Kittlemade's creator, Jordan Brunelle, has been working with leather since long before he launched the business. Salvatore Lucchese emigrated to the U.S. from Italy in 1882, and by 1883 had already started his first boot shop in San Antonio, TX. Over 100 years later, this iconic company is still widely recognized for its one-of-a-kind boots and leather goods with a Nashville location in the Gulch.
