When Nashville native Callie Walker-Adams began designing her dream wedding, every detail echoed the city that shaped her. From the music to the fashion to the venue that hosted her engagement party, her hometown was at the heart of it all. And nowhere was that connection more beautifully embodied than in her wedding dress, a custom creation by celebrated Nashville designer Olia Zavozina.
Callie, the founder of Callie & Co., is a well-known figure in the local design scene. Her interior design firm has earned a national reputation for combining contemporary elegance with classic Southern charm. But back home in Music City, Callie’s roots run especially deep. Raised in the historic Marathon Village, where her father, Barry Walker, transformed a 1907 auto factory into a thriving creative hub, Callie has long been immersed in Nashville’s unique blend of history, artistry, and innovation.
Today, as the Managing Director of Marathon Village, Callie curates a community of more than 80 businesses, many of them homegrown Nashville brands, including the legendary western-wear label H-Bar-C, which outfitted her groom, Cole Adams, for their big day. Fittingly, it was also Marathon’s newest event space, Room With a View, that hosted the couple’s unforgettable engagement party, hailed as one of the most iconic celebrations the neighborhood has seen.
So, when it came time to design her wedding gown, Callie knew it had to reflect not just her personal style but her city’s spirit. She found her perfect creative partner in Olia Zavozina, a Nashville-based designer renowned for her custom bridalwear. Together, the duo brought Callie’s vision to life through a deeply personal and collaborative process.
“Working with Callie felt like creating a piece of Nashville couture,” Olia shares. “I understood her style immediately: elegant, artistic, and Southern at its core. Every detail of the gown was crafted with intention and heart.”
From the first sketch to the final fitting, Callie was intimately involved in every step. The result: a gown that felt like a love letter to Nashville. The silhouette nodded to Southern glamour, while modern lines and custom detailing gave it a contemporary edge.
On April 12, Callie and Cole exchanged vows at the romantic Commodore Perry Estate in Austin, Texas. But even hundreds of miles from home, the spirit of Nashville was unmistakable. The celebration featured a traditional string band, custom after-party looks by local designers Dixon + Jack, and countless subtle nods to the city that built them.
Of course, the centerpiece of the day was the gown — a true masterpiece of Nashville design. It wasn’t just a dress; it was a reflection of Callie’s creative journey, stitched with the fabric of her hometown.
“If you ask me what’s guided my life,” Callie says, quoting her father, “it’s this: ‘Be a leader, not a follower.’” True to form, Callie led with vision, heart, and an unwavering connection to her roots.
From the design studio to the dance floor, Callie Walker-Adams’ wedding was a stunning celebration of love, legacy, and Nashville creativity at its finest.
