In your own words, how would you describe what you do — and the role you’ve built for yourself?
I am a visionary and a builder, but I’m also an activator, and dream chaser. I’m a creative and a people lover. I have developed businesses that touch on all of these passions with roles that bring me true joy. That includes Barseat with RSC (mobile bartending and board member for the Nashville United States Bartenders’ Guild Chapter), Perfectly Cordial (crafting creative beverages that appeal to everyone), and OneShop Marketplace and Eats (showcasing local and small makers and providing access to local Nashville culinarians).
How did your career evolve into what it is now? What defining steps, pivots, or roles shaped your journey along the way?
The early years kept me chasing knowledge, and that led to growth. The middle years gave me validation, community, and funding. The later years taught me humility, disappointment, and renewed strength. I have entered the fourth chapter of my career. I have recently had some changes in my health that have shown me that I cannot be in a constant level of grinding. There is a unique satisfaction in building something and passing the torch. Because as an entrepreneurial visionary, you never stop building, you just build with intention.
Many women wear more than one hat — professionally or personally. What’s a part of your story that doesn’t fit neatly into your job title?
Hashimoto’s disease. I was diagnosed with this autoimmune disease in January, and this disease did not f it into any of the job titles I had amassed during my entrepreneurial journey. This diagnosis was the catalyst I needed to take my business to the next level.
What challenges did you face early on, and what challenges are you navigating today?
My early primary challenges were lack of resources including, lack of mentorship, lack of funding, and lack of entrepreneurial knowledge. My current challenge is myself, reigning myself in and staying focused on one mission and one goal. I’m a visionary and I have ideas that pop up into my head all the time. I just can’t act on all of them if I truly want to be successful.
